A lot of Don Cochran's work has a folk art feel. Being born of Georgia clay in 1946, Don often paints scenes from his memory of his youth and life experiences in Georgia. He also enjoys painting beautiful landscapes and sculpted high-relief pieces but often ventures to depict other experimental images of a different time and place, transcending his own normal, comfortable style.
Don also works in the motion picture industry. He landed his first job as a scenic artist in the business in 1984. He has done the scenery in numerous movies, television shows, commercials and theater attractions produced by MGM, Warner Bros., Lorimar and others. His favorite project was as the Scenic Chargeman for the movie " Driving Miss Daisy".
